When it comes to health, the most important organ in the body is the heart. However, heart problems are becoming more common due to bad habits that are harmful to health. These problems do not usually appear suddenly. They are usually the result of poor diet, unhealthy habits, and high levels of anxiety.
The reasons why your heart does not work properly vary including:
- poor nutrition;
- lack of exercise;
- lack of rest;
It is very important to consult a specialist as soon as you notice the following symptoms.
1. Chest pain
Chest pain can occur for a variety of reasons. However, you should pay attention to this if the pain becomes intense and causes a feeling of heaviness and spasm.
When chest pain is caused by the heart not working properly, it means that it is receiving low-oxygen blood. That is why it is important to see a doctor as soon as possible.
Mostly our heartbeat is normal. Usually, when the heart is healthy and rhythmic, we do not even notice it.
However, if you notice that your heart is beating too fast, too slow or irregular, see your doctor. This is an obvious sign that you have heart problems.
3. Apnea in a dream
Sometimes sleep apnea is not noticed, but it can be a symptom that the heart is not working properly.
It prevents air from entering the body during sleep and can lead to heart attacks due to insufficient oxygen supply to the brain and heart.
Even if you occasionally have sleep apnea, you need to be careful. This can affect the quality of your sleep.
4. Swollen legs and feet
Do you eat a lot of salt? Have you been walking more often than usual lately?
It is normal for the legs and feet to swell in both cases. However, in a few days, they should return to their normal state.
However, you should make sure that this condition is not permanent. Because it can also be a symptom of fluid retention caused by heart failure or high blood pressure.
5. Shivering and shortness of breath
This is not normal if you have to constantly struggle with breathing or you feel tired and suffocate very often. If for some reason this happens, you should ask yourself why your heart is not working properly.
In this case, it is important to monitor your habits. If you have changed them or recently started doing new exercises, this shortness of breath may be normal.
6. Sexual dysfunction
One of the first warning signs of possible heart disease is erectile dysfunction, especially in patients aged 40-50 years.
If there is another explanation or if you are less then 50 years old, you should see a doctor.
Together with it, you can determine whether your sexual dysfunction is caused by certain heart problems or something else.
7. Broken heart syndrome
The pain you feel when you suffer from this syndrome is similar to or greater than during a heart attack. However, this is a temporary condition that has a surprising effect on healthy people.
This syndrome has been found in patients who have no history of high cholesterol, high blood pressure, poor diet, or sedentary lifestyle experience.
Patients with this condition have an increase in the number of catecholamines, substances similar to adrenaline, which are released in the body. This happens after a deep mental shock.
The sudden increase in the number of catecholamines is due to the fact that the body seeks to release substances that lead the body to return to a neutral state after they experience high levels of anxiety and stress.
Fortunately, this condition is temporary and 90% of cases do not lead to serious health problems.
