Liver Cleanse: Is Detox Really Possible?

Liver Cleanse: Is Detox Really Possible?

Your liver is one of the largest organs in your body and has three main functions:

Detoxification: is responsible for the collection and excretion of natural toxins (eg, ammonia) and external toxins (eg, alcohol and drugs).
Synthesis: The liver plays an important role in the metabolism of carbohydrates, fats, and proteins. Also, it secretes bile, which is necessary for digestion.
Storage: Vitamins A, D, E, and K and glycogen are stored in the liver. These compounds serve as a source of energy for daily tasks and other needs of the body.

You need to cleanse your liver naturally because everything that passes through it can cause problems and damage your body. So today we want to offer remedies for natural liver detoxification.

1. Papaya

This fruit contains an enzyme called papain. It helps to improve digestion and process food properly. Also, it helps reduce inflammation in the body.

Also, papaya is recommended for weight loss. When it comes to liver detoxification, papaya facilitates liver function by improving digestion.

It is also worth emphasizing that you can eat not only the flesh of these fruits. Also, the seeds are edible and have anti-inflammatory properties that help fight arthritis and cleanse the liver.

To eliminate fat from the liver, try this recipe:

  • First, take 20 seeds of papaya, crush them or grind.
  • Then mix with lemon juice or milk.
  • Drink this combination for one month.

2. Indian gooseberry (Emblica Officinalis)

Indian gooseberry is a powerful antioxidant that helps remove toxins from the body.

It often not only helps prevent fatty liver disease but also liver fibrosis. This is excessive inflammation of this organ due to a disorder or disease.

The best way is to eat Indian gooseberries raw. You can add it to salads, mix it with yogurt or eat it separately.

3. Lemons for natural liver detoxification

Lemons are one of the most famous and widely used citrus fruits due to their properties.

They are rich in vitamin C, flavonoids, malic acid, and essential oils. All of these compounds give them properties that support digestion and the liver. Also, they help strengthen blood vessels and improve heart health.

Lemons cleanse the liver because they:

  • improve digestion
  • tonic the liver and stimulate it
  • provide a large number of antioxidants that fight free radicals
  • prevent premature degeneration of various organs of the body

4. Apple cider vinegar

Apple cider vinegar helps balance the pH of your body and helps eliminate toxins that have accumulated over time. This allows the liver to better perform the process of detoxification of the body and properly metabolize fats.

Also, daily consumption of apple cider vinegar will give you many benefits, including:

  • vitamins, minerals, and essential oils
  • lower risk of kidney infections
  • elimination of constipation
  • prevention of liver problems

We recommend consuming 2 tsp (10 ml) of apple cider vinegar per day. It can be drunk separately or diluted in a glass of water (200 ml), depending on how much you like the taste. You can also add it to salads or sauces.

5. Green tea

Green tea is rich in unique antioxidants – polyphenols. These antioxidants reduce the damage of the body by free radicals. Therefore, they delay cell aging and complications in various organs of the body.

Even though green tea is always recommended due to its many benefits, you should never drink more than 10 cups a day. You should also make sure that the tea you drink is natural to avoid consuming elements that make it less effective.

If you do not like the aroma of green tea, try mixing it with your favorite fruits in cocktails. Mix it with fruits and vegetables until you find the perfect combination.

However, you should always remember that if you experience pain or discomfort in the liver, you should seek medical help.
